Ready, Steady… Row!

Your journey into gig rowing starts here

Our Ready Steady Go programme is designed to help new rowers get started safely, confidently, and at your own pace. Whether you’re brand new to rowing or just curious to try something different, this three-step introduction makes it easy to take your first strokes with us.

Step 1: Intro Meeting at the Gig Shed: We’ll welcome you down to the gig shed to meet some of the crew, learn a bit about the club, and understand how we operate. We’ll talk through safety, what to expect on the water, and get you to complete a quick information form - no pressure, just a friendly chat.

Step 2: Your First Row, on the River at Rock: Your first row takes place on the river at Rock, where calm, sheltered conditions are perfect for beginners. You’ll learn the basics with an experienced crew, get a feel for the gig, and start building confidence in a relaxed environment.

Step 3: Your First Sea Row, from Port Isaac: When the conditions are right, you’ll join us for your first sea row from Port Isaac. This is where it all comes together, building confidence on open water and experiencing the joy of gig rowing, in our beloved Port Isaac.

If you’re ready to give it a try, we’d love to hear from you. Get in touch via the email or message us on social media to arrange your Ready Steady Go introduction.

We can’t wait to welcome you to the crew!
