February has seen us balancing winter sea conditions with valuable time on the water.
We’ve been enjoying regular rows from Rock, making the most of the more settled estuary
conditions, and doing focused training for the Three Rivers Race and the World Pilot Gig
Championships in the Isles of Scilly at the end of April, supported by the brilliant guidance of
our experienced coaches and crew. Alongside our coached training sessions, we’re still
fitting in social rows and taking out new rowers on our ‘Ready Steady Go’ programme too.
The Roadford Lake League is now well underway, with two more race days to go before the
league concludes.
We’re also excited to confirm the date for our own regatta – Saturday 12th July at Port
Gaverne - so do mark your calendars, with more details coming soon.
Behind the scenes, refurbishment of Unity is continuing as a real whole-club effort, with
members repainting and repairing her ready for a return to the sea at Port Isaac this spring.
In March we’ll be gathering at the Village Hall for a club social and planning evening, looking
ahead with our five-year plan on Club direction and fundraising and discussing final
preparations for the Scillies - which we’re all hugely looking forward to.
Mark your diary's for April 11th - for our fun BINGO night at Port Isaac Village Hall - always a really fun night, raising money for our club, great fun and lots of laughter!
As always, we’re keen to welcome new members, particularly those interested in training
and competing. If you’d like to get involved, please reach out via our website or social media
channels… we’d love to hear from you!
