Spring and the new rowing season is officially here!
We’ve recently swapped the gigs over at Rock, with the newly repainted
Unity coming out for rows on the estuary so we can prepare Roscarrock
for shipping to the Scillies for the World Gig Championships next month.

It’s been a beautiful start to the season, with early morning rows from
Rock treating us to some incredible sunrises. Corsair is now back in Port
Isaac. A crew took her out from Port Gaverne and rowed her round to
Port Isaac – our first sea row of the year, and it felt fantastic to be back
out on open water.

The racing season officially kicked off last weekend with the Three
Rivers Race, where we had two crews competing in this challenging
long-distance event - both rowing strong and holding their own right to
the finish. Now, all focus turns to training and fitness as we prepare to
take four crews to the World Gig Championships in the Isles of Scilly.
We’re hoping to build on last year’s success (a podium finish!) and make
it another memorable few days of racing.
We’ve also got some great social and fundraising events coming up and
would love your support, as we raise money for a new gig cover. Join us
for the Josh Curnow Gig at Port Isaac Village Hall on April 11th (doors
open 7pm, tickets £10), available via our website or from Kat at The
Peapod – it’s set to be a brilliant night.

And don’t miss our Easter Sunday Cake Sale on the Platt (2 – 4pm),
where we’ll be serving up delicious homemade cakes, teas, and coffees
until they’re gone – it was hugely popular last year, so come down early
and treat yourself!
